Brandon Harvey

Expedition Leader & Polar Naturalist

Brandon hails from Victoria, British Columbia, where he became fascinated with the ocean and all its creatures at an early age. This began with work as a deck hand aboard a whale-watching vessel around the southern Vancouver Island, soon qualifying for his Canadian Limited Master’s license to become captain. It continues today in his studies towards an M.Sc in Environmental Management.

Moving on to more adventurous destinations, Brandon began working aboard expedition vessels voyaging to the polar regions in 2003. Since then he has worked as a kayak guide, zodiac driver, lecturer on marine biology & geology and expedition leader on numerous voyages to the Arctic and Antarctic, 100 of those as expedition leader.

Brandon has worked extensively in Greenland and the Canadian Arctic, and has transited the Northwest Passage aboard some of the worlds most exclusive private yachts. On alternate seasons you will find him as expedition leader aboard a range of private vessels in the Antarctic. As a seaman and a naturalist, he is able to manage all aspects of expedition operations, taking pride in organizing a safe and smooth operation. He is an avid photographer and sells his images of the natural world and its inhabitants worldwide and can be found capturing superb images whilst enjoying his outdoor pursuits: sea kayaking, camping, ice climbing, and backcountry skiing.
