Join us as we explore how Lamima is redefining luxury expeditions and the unforgettable journeys waiting for you in the heart of Southeast Asia.
Traveling on Lamima is one of those rare instances where you have a perfect marriage of destination and conveyance. I can’t imagine a more perfect way to explore Raja Ampat or Komodo; Lamima is, first and foremost, beautiful. Her elegant lines culminating in the lengthy bowsprit, punctuated by the towering masts, seem almost timeless and are completely in harmony with the surrounding Indonesian landscape.
Life on Lamima is generally lived on her expansive outdoor wooden decks. Somehow, she manages to be both decadent and informal at the same time, with comfortable loungers in the shade converting effortlessly into outdoor dining. Netting beneath the bowsprit provides a unique vantage point to watch the bow slip through the water while you relax or read over the water. Tucked away in the stern is a wonderful outdoor massage area, where gentle tropical breezes flow through. Meals are generally served outdoors, with a mix of delectable Indonesian food and international food according to guest preferences. For those wanting more adrenaline, a fleet of toys and activities including jet skis and wake surfing is also available.

“Sailing onboard Lamima was – in all sincerity – one of the highlights of my life, and I could not be more proud to have Lamima join our fleet. Widely regarded as the top phinisi in Indonesia, Lamima provides not just impeccable service and indulgent comfort– rather, she provides a window into Indonesia, connecting her guests with the destination, above and below water. Her crew were the warmest and most welcoming of any yacht I’ve ever seen; she is truly something special. By working with Lamima, EYOS is staying true to its core value of handpicking the very best of the best when it comes to expedition yachts, and it is an honor to represent her, her crew, and her Owner.”

As wonderful as it is to be onboard Lamima, though, she provides an incredible way to connect with Indonesia. For those who want to go diving or snorkeling, the process is effortless. A dive support boat awaits alongside, with all your gear already prepared for you– you just need to slip it on and then enter the water. There is simply no hassle– everything is done for you. And the snorkeling and diving is truly some of the best anywhere in the world– with extraordinary biodiversity and thriving reefs. Perhaps a highlight for me was the opportunity to dive with many giant mantas circling overhead while we observed them at one of their feeding stations. Another memory- going for a night dive and coming from and surfacing, seeing a full moon rising above the hills of the island while the lit Lamima was just in front, warmly inviting. For guests that want to, you can dive up to 4 times a day. And, of course, all the time you are surrounded by utterly spectacular Indonesian scenery– tucking into quiet bays and anchorages with limestone islands all around.
But more than anything, what makes Lamima so wonderful is her crew. There is a warmth, hospitality and spirit to the yacht that is simply hard to match. The crew have worked onboard Lamima for years and years and years- the crew is longstanding and loyal and truly the heart and soul of the yacht. Their welcome, each time guests return to the yacht after going ashore or a dive, is thrilling and fun; you come to feel part of the family almost in a way that more formal yachts might inhibit. Yet the service standards are every bit what any yacht in the Med would be.
