We’re thrilled to share that EYOS Expeditions and Camp Dominica have been recognized by Condé Nast Traveler as one of its Bright Ideas in Travel 2025, an annual feature celebrating innovators who are reshaping the way we explore the world. Among a competitive field of trailblazing travel initiatives, just a select few were chosen as “change makers in the travel industry,” demonstrating a positive impact on the travel industry.
The recognition is for “Diving with Giants,” Camp Dominica’s pioneering program which offers guests the rare opportunity to swim with resident sperm whales in their natural habitat while setting new standards for responsible whale tourism.
Beyond extraordinary experiences, the program is designed with long-term conservation impact at its core:
- Local empowerment: Training programs for Dominican guides help ensure whale tourism directly benefits the community.
- Conservation support: Proceeds fund Common Earth, advancing marine protection across the region.
- Research and education: We support marine science fellowships and the creation of the Dominican Sperm Whale Institute, fostering a new generation of ocean stewards. For EYOS, this recognition is both an honor and a reminder of our mission: to create journeys that inspire while safeguarding the wild places and creatures that make them extraordinary.
